Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Dear Grasshopper community hopefully there is anyone out there that can help me with this one.

I need to make the structure of a part of a roof of an pavilion.

This image shows what the cross section should look like.

I want to build this cross section in grasshopper because the width of the cross-section changes along the shape.

The red line shows the curve I already have in rhino.

(Afterwords It should be possible to spread out the different parts for manufacturing. )

For now my question is how to make the different parts separately? The structure is assembled out of 1.2 meter long parts. I thought of making the cross section and afterwords extrude the parts along a master curve for each part.

If I am not clear please ask.

Thanks in advance,

All the best,

Yasser

OK Guys, (and girls off course)

I will zoom in on the problem I am stuck with.

If we take the top part. I want to make an closed curve that looks similar to the image below.

I already have upper line. I know I want it to be 22 mm. So to find point 3 is easy. But how do I find point 4?

is it possible to just draw a line parallel to the upper line and intersect it with the line that is already in the wright angle?
If someone could give me a push in the wright direction I would appreciate it.

Kind regards,

Yasser

I have to race home now. But this is what I got so far.

Ok new approach, this will only work with parallel top and bottom but can be further adapted to work with any shape.

Hey Danny, I looked at your first post. Very cleaver.

Thanks a lot!. Hopefully I would also reach your level of skill.

Later on today I will look at the other post.  Thanks again.

Kind regards,

Yasser
