algorithmic modeling for Rhino
I am trying to make this Rhino model using Grasshopper. The task is to create a base XY grid with lines in the Z direction (whose heights are a variable) on each of the grid points. The second part is to create a geometry (a simple sphere to start) that will intersect these lines. The reason it is complicated is because I want to split the lines where the geometry intersects them so that the lines within the sphere and the lines outside of it are disconnected. Then I need to mark these end points using small spheres as markers to identify where the lines are broken.
If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. I'm a beginner and this might be a simple solution so I am sorry if it sounds like a dumb question.

not as far as this. but this is very helpful thank you.
question, why is the third item different from the first two?
this is the attempt i made. however, it's incorrrect - instead creating a 3d grid and then identifying the grid points w/in the intersection of the circle i need to split the vertical lines and identify the end points
Hello again
your file made me think of another approach. please check file.
cheers
alex
ps if this is for a project i would love to see final result.
Welcome to
