Offset command for closed polyline_corner point problem

Dear All,

I have a problem with offseting. If I have a closed polyline, I make an offset to outside. If my angle is smaller than 180degree, it is generating automatically 3 points nerby the corners.

Do U know some overall effective way just to keep the cornerpoints, and remove the other (for me disturbing) points?

Please see attached some ways, which are not working well :-(

1, "Polyline collaps" component --> getting strange result

2, "Reduce" component --> in the most of the case it works, but not always

3, "Rebuild curve" component --> it is just generating polyline automatically (not between my corner points)

4, "Simplify curves" component --> not really working by me

If you have some god suggestion, I am glad to see your comments.

Thanks for your feedback.

Cheers

I think I understand your question... Here is my take... which admittedly is a hack that will not work on certain shaped Polylines. I suspect it would work for most if not all of the curves you will be using.

Give it a shot and let me know if it doesn't work.  The Slider named "hack factor" should be adjusted according to the scale of the curves you are working with.  It is used to determine which pts do not have the "extra" corner points to begin with.

There are probably hundreds of other (better) ways to solve this, but if you need something a.s.a.p, it could fit.

ok. That suggestion was ridiculous.

Try this:

Heyyyy AB, Thanks a lot it is a really helpful and effective short solution.

I am happy with it :-) I just tested, it works

Thanks, Cheers
