Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi Geniuses!

I'm experimenting with some forms for my course.

I have a large number of surfaces vertically above one another, not uniformly, (see image attached)

I'm wondering if there is a way for me to extrude the surfaces only up to the first surface below it

I'm still relatively new at grasshopper and any advice on how to go about this would be appreciated, I may end up with a lot of surfaces that would make it a bit too much to do manually.

Thanks Everyone!

Hey Joris! thats a good system, but it seems to be extruding the surfaces down beyond the next surface below, its much closer to what I'm trying to achieve though, I'm wondering if there's a way to sort the shifted list by order of z height, I couldn't figure out how though.

Thanks!

This should first sort all the surfaces by Z-height. Don't forget to set the wrap boolean to false for the shift component.

Joris, you're amazing, that works perfectly, I reversed the sorted list so that it would extrude down instead of up and it's perfect, this will streamline tons of work!

Glad to be of assistance! :)
