Increment points along curve

Hi,

I'm trying to create a set of points along a curve that are incremental. I want the first point to be at the start of the curve, the next point to be at 50mm away from that point, the next to be at 100mm away from that one etc......

I have cunningly illustrated my aim using the underscore and full stop buttons on my keyboard. The line however is curved.

Any help is much appreciated.
