algorithmic modeling for Rhino
So I am doing a little test to see if I figure out why the direction "Vector orient objects" isn't working as I would have assumed. It seems to be flipped 90 deg. if I using Lyrebird to control a generic component.
Also I think it would be nice to have something in Lyrebrid to control the units, as most of the time the units I use in Rhino are inches and Revit uses feet.

As far as coordinates go, I developed it so that the orientation vector indicated the direction of the Front elevation of the Revit family which in the Family Editor points down. This was mostly a preference of how I build Revit families and how I expected to work with Lyrebird. It's probably worth discussing how others feel it should work as I'm hardly set in my ways with this feature.
Lyrebird does handle units internally in Revit so that it can handle different unit types, but it goes under the assumption that the units you're using in Rhino will match the units you're using in Revit. If you're using different units in the programs there's nothing in there currently to accommodate it. It crossed my mind earlier on, but I didn't feel it was something that was terribly important and had other priorities I wanted to implement. Again, this can be open for debate for further updates of Lyrebird.
Thanks for the quick reply.
I had assumed it was like this in family editor
But you are saying you build stuff like this?
That does seem a little backwards to me. Seems like the front view in Rhino would be the front view in a revit family, which in Rhino puts the x direction to the right. Maybe it just me.
I understand about the units being lower on the list. It's not that big of a deal know that I know what to expect.
Right, basically the negative Y vector and not along the X axis like I guess you were trying to do.
