Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi All,

This might sound a silly question. Nut what is a Naked Edge?

I tried to Google and do some research on it but there is no reference of it on the net.

Is it the edge that is open and not closed?

cheers

Naked edges are edges which have only one adjacent face - so they are on the boundary.

Thanks for the clarifying Daniel.

Analyze > Edge Tools > Show Edges or the ShowEdges command will help you see what Daniel is saying.

Also on a mesh you can run "Check" for info:

This is a good mesh.

Important things to consider with this mesh:
Mesh has 16 naked edges. Although this does not necessarily mean that the mesh is bad,
naked edges can cause problems if the ultimate goal is STL output.

Thanks Taz. Makes sense.
