Hi patrick.

this process was developed for a university studio this passed fall.

the idea was to weave around a set of closest points by order of distance creating a fiber-like enclosure. When i say weave the focus was not about making an intricate tapestry weave but just to find a way for a strand to move from one point to another. once it found its closest point the strand is attracted to it  ,and again depending on its distance, forces the strand to loop around the closest point in order to "secure it " before it goes to the next closest point. this loop is controlled  by distance variables as well as number of times it will loop around the point. then the effect was repeated from one strand to many to start to form the enclosure
