Animation made with new imaging components for Grasshopper 1.0 These components will hopefully soon be available via the Yak package manager in Rhino6.

Love it and look forward to it ! Now we just need a smooth link to Unity, or straight to the VR headset - 
no disrespect to those already working on it - thanks for all your hard work :) -

is grasshopper 1.0 available? grasshopper has not been updated after aug 2014 , the last version is 0.9.0076

The definition that made this animation:

The basic idea of this approach is:

  1. Generate the curves you want to draw (either as outlines or as filled regions)
  2. Generate edge and fill descriptors, either one for each curve, or you can even generate many fills/edges to be associated with a specific curve.
  3. Combine the curves with the edges+fills into GDI shapes.
  4. Compose all shapes in one go onto a bitmap using the Draw component.

Curves are defined in 3D, as is the bitmap orientation.
