I haven´t checked the component because I use the older version and calculated it using other methods. I used the documentation on the web page PvSys: http://www.pvsyst.com

By the way, have you checked Ladybug's PV SWH system size component?
It can calculate the minimal spacing of the PV module's rows for any orientation of the PV modules, regardless of whether they are positioned due south or not. Minimal distance is identified instantly with trigonometric equations.
Here is an example file for 1MW solar farm.
