algorithmic modeling for Rhino
This definition approximates a shrink wrap for generic brep geometry.
There are two steps:
The first step creates a mesh from a bounding box and drags each vertex to the closest point on the brep. Andrew Heumann offered a similar definition back in December (http://www.grasshopper3d.com/video/shrinkwrap-with-grasshopper?xg_source=activity)
The second step takes the original vertices of the mesh and treats them as anchor points (since they are now 'attached' to the geometry). The mesh is then triangulated and subdivided and a negative pressure is placed on the new faces with Kangaroo.
We wanted to test the definition on complex geometry. The base geometry is a random structure produced with Rhinoscript.

David, there's no tutorial at the moment. Are you getting errors? If you're getting an invalid mesh, make sure you update to the newest version of Weaverbird.
I cant seem to get this to work, is there a step by step tutorial available with video?
rendering looks crazy!
Awesome, I have to try this one!
I've uploaded the definition here: http://www.grasshopper3d.com/profiles/blogs/shrink-wrap-with-kangaroo
Feedback appreciated!
Awesome! Any chance you'd share the definition? Keen to explore Kangaroo
fantastic!
hello eric,
has you can see, a lot of interest for your "WORKS".
However, if you would tell more about your works,
we would all be thankful.
by sensory continue such great work!
Great, I love it, looks real cool.
great work!
im interessted too! could you send me the definition? my email: maxlangwieder@t-online.de
thank you!
