Looks like you are using the example file. I cannot reproduce the error on my system. The error also doesn't help that much as CreateFromMesh is one of the methods for Brep. I assume you are using the example file so the input is valid brep/mesh so it should work fine. I have two suggestions:
1. Can you try another example and see if it works fine?
2. There is an alternative raytracing component (Bounce from surface) that is really similar to ray tracing component and may also does what you are looking for. You can find it in the same example file.
Let me know if any of these solved the issue.

I love your new components in ladybug which can help calculate ray trace. And you always update which you have done( after your Internet lecture in Hyperbody , you already improved your work very well). I am doing my building envelope,I want let every fragments of my facade can reflect sun ray by the angel. So I think your new ladybug can help me. But I found I cannot use your new components( ray-tracing components).
Your example cannot run because the component said : 1. Solution exception:'type' object has no attribute 'CreateFromMesh'
So can you help me to solve this problem?
