Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Using Rhino + grasshopper + Kangaroo to create a planar complex honeycomb structure. This structure is in the end transform into developable surfaces, unrolled and made ready for lasercutting!! (U mad evolute?)

Thank you Arie-Willem. Could you also share with me the definition? I'm really interested in planarization and this would help me start.

Cindy, Tulin, Nguyen and everyone else interested,

I'm teaming up with Rodrigo Medina and we're currently working on our new website:

www.thinkparametric.com

There's been a lot of interest in this definition and others we've done. This one is great to learn a little bit about hexagons and also to learn about Daniel Piker's Kangaroo and to cool thing is that you can make your own kick-ass book case! I'm going to make this a step by step tutorial and post it soon on the website.

Please subscribe to the newsletter!! :)

Thank you all for your interest!

Would you mind sharing the definition? I'm new to grasshopper and would love to learn how this honeycomb works! Thanks :)

Hey Nguyen! Thanks for your interest! I wanted to use this def myself to make a bookcase, the problem is I can't find it anywhere, I was more or less messing around in the weekend that time, experimenting with planar hexagons. It was later on that I wanted to use it but I was not able to find it. I haven't searched that hard but it is a pretty neat def and usefull, I'll try to find it if I do I'll send it. Or maybe I'll rewrite it, it wasn't rocket science if I remember correctly :)

Cheers!
