algorithmic modeling for Rhino

This is a non-rigid version of the one I posted here a few weeks ago, but with double the folds.

Hello Chris ,

Did you manage to create this Hyperbolic parabolic (HP) pleated model (simulating the origami HP) without triangulating  the quadrille stripe?  In other word  , did u manage to twist the stripe instead of triangulate them? I dont see a triangulation in this video?   Best /Mania

Hi Chris,

This is exactly the kind of geometry i've been developing for an architecture design project. I've managed to model it in Rhino, but i'm trying to script it in grasshopper without much luck owing to the fact i'm a total no0b. would you mind sharing your GH definition for this one?

I had a look at the other definition that you posted, and while i understand the construction of the folds are different, the script itself is too complicated for me.

cheers,

fahimah

You could make a grid of points, and decompose them, and feed them into a function of two variables where z is a function of x and y: z(x,y)

Here's the definition: HyperbolicParaboloid.ghx

Hi! I am a masters student, trying to learn grasshopper for my thesis. Could you tell me how to create a simple hyperbolic paraboloid in rhino/grasshopper? Thanks
