Coupling Grasshopper with ANSYS to obtain real-time feedback on the mechanical performance of the structure.
Galapagos is used to run an evolutionary optimization of the structural topology. Maximum displacement is the fitness function (optimization parameter).

You're welcome.

Hi Riccardo,
Thanks for taking the time to answer me. I'll try and get something running with the documentation.
Best regards
Hi Stéphane,
the script is well explained in the ANSYS scripting documentation. It's a basic Python script to loop over several geometries or solutions. Unfortunately that script is buried somewhere deep in an old external hard drive and I have no idea where to find it anymore..
Hi,
I'm evaluating this solution right now, and I'd love to be able to see the file in action. Is there any chance anyone can send it to me? The Dropbox file is dead.
I do realize that this thread is 3 years old, but I can't find anything new. :-/
Best regards, and thanks for your help!
Hi Riccardo,
I also wonder if it possible to download your script for ANSYS and grasshopper interface. I build a frame structure on Grasshopper and want to do analysis on ANSYS.
Best Regards,

hi Riccardo ,
I need to analyse the performance of natural ventilation of an interactive facade in my master's case study , so would you please tell me more about your script and how to use it ? & if you don't mind could you share the link from where I can download ? I'm familiar with ansys fluent so I'm happy finding your article
Thank you
Hi Firat,
ANSYS does not have any specific API available. But you can do most of the work with Python scripts. They can be easily found in the official ANSYS documentation.

Hello;
For a steel structure model, in order to transfer it from rhino to ANSYS with boundary condition (contact & support types) and loading (thats not quite necessarry at the moment)
what kind of coding I can use.
I could not find an OPEN API manual for ANSYS.
Do I have to make it with MACRO definitions?
or what then?
Thanks & Best Regards
Hi Riccardo!
Sadly enough the shared script is not downloadable anymore. I would really love to have a look at it for my master thesis though. Would you mind sharing it a second time?
Greets,
Thierry
