algorithmic modeling for Rhino
“The earth is sometimes a hostile place. The weather conditions can change rapidly and in the process destroy buildings, infrastructure and lives. This has been contextualised by the recent events in the Philippines were many thousands sadly lost their lives and many hundreds of thousand have been made homeless. This collaborative project will look into the new ways in which new deployable structures can aid humanitarian efforts. These deployable structures will be parametrically designed to achieve maximum structural integrity through minimal weight. The major problem with traditional shelters is the size, weight and speed in which they can be assembled. Perhaps the most pressing issue is there inability to withstand additional weather that disaster zones often see in the following days and months.” Richard Hodgkinson ;)
