algorithmic modeling for Rhino
This component allows you to import shapefiles and to locate and scale them in the Rhino/Grasshopper environment. Heron can be found at food4Rhino.

Hi,
I am absolutely exhilarated by Heron. Seems to be an utterly impressive component. However, I encounter difficulties finding the data necessary for recreating Paris. Did anyone succeed in modeling an European city?
Thank you beforehand.
Hi, dear colleagues. I wonder how to get accurate street borders except offsetting streetaxes toward both sides? Is it possible ever with Heron?
That worked!
Thanks for following up!
Great tool
I think I found the problem. The component is not reading open polylines (or wkblinestrings) correctly, but it does read closed polylines (or wkbpolylines) ok. I have posted an update on food4rhino, let me know if the update works for you. Thanks for reporting the bug!

The rhino model is just a rectangle, so I didn't bother to include it.

Above is a link to download the shp files reference in my grasshopper def, from my box. These are all publicly available datasets from datasf.org
yes, the curve is planar and on the xy plane. In fact, the component works wonderfully with some shapefiles, and does not output values or feature points with others. I can't tell what the difference is between the files, in that they all open clearly and fine in ArcGIS.
The component requires that the input boundary be flat to the XY plane. Can you verify this is the case?
Hi guys,
I'm running into a similar problem.
The input boundary is completely enclosed within shpExtent; however, I'm not getting any data out of the values or feature points outputs. I've opened the file in ArcGIS and confirmed that all the content and data is there.
Is anyone else having this bug? Any advice? Thanks for your help!
It sounds like the input boundary may be outside of the shpExtent. Make sure it is fully within the shpExtent.
