AirPods Noise Cancellation Not Working? Ways to Fix
Connect your AirPods to your Mac and follow the instructions below.
1) Select the AirPods icon from the menu bar and select Volume Down under AirPods. If the AirPods icon is not in your Mac's menu bar, skip to step 2. Don’t forget to check iphone 7 call recorder icon.
2) Open the Mac Control Center and expand the Sound menu.
3) Expand the AirPods menu to see the sound modes. Select Off to disable active silence. Select silence again and see if the AirPods are now blocking background noise.
Mute AirPods on Apple Watch:
1) Tap the AirPlay icon in the lower right corner of the music player.
2) Press to turn off active noise cancellation. Wait a few seconds and click the Mute button to turn the active mute back on.
Adjust AirPods Pro is perfect
AirPods offer the best sound quality and noise reduction when they are in your ear. Make sure your AirPods Pro fits snugly and comfortably in your ear canal. If AirPods Pro noise cancellation doesn't work properly with the default headphones, try other headphones.
Your AirPods Pro box comes with two extra earbuds (small [S] and large [L]). Try both earbuds on AirPods and use the one that works best for you. Install the AirPods and put them in your ears a few times to see if you have a good seal.
If you're not sure, run the headphone compatibility test on your iPhone. Put both AirPods in your ear and do the following:
1) Go to Settings > Bluetooth and tap the information icon next to the AirPods.
2) Select Earmold Test and click Next to continue.
3) When you hear the test tone, call up and put both AirPods to your ears. Use the headphones if the left and right headphones are working fine.
4) Click Done to close the ear clip matching results page. Or click Reset to run the test again.
Noise cancellation may not work properly when all AirPods have the same headphones. Depending on the structure of your ears, you may need to use different ear tips for both AirPods. For more information, see this Apple support document on AirPods Pro options. Cleaning AirPods
Cleaning AirPods
Not only increases their volume but can solve performance problems and prevent long-term damage. However, you don't need to wipe all AirPods to fix the noise canceling issue. Just notice the mesh on the AirPods Pro. See the image below. This has an external network microphone that detects and blocks external noise in noise-cancellation mode. The material outside the fabric prevents the microphone from filtering out ambient noise. That's why AirPods Pro noise cancellation doesn't work.
Check the mesh surface and remove dust, wax, or dirt with a dry cotton swab. Then use a soft brush to remove stubborn dirt or earwax stuck to the mesh. Do not use sharp objects, abrasive materials or liquid solutions, or even water, to clean the microphone grill.
