Kangaroo 2.41 - including beams and curvature continuity

http://www.food4rhino.com/app/kangaroo-physics

The big new feature here is beams. This was one of the main motivations for adding 6 degree of freedom nodes, and something I've been meaning to include in Kangaroo for several years.

Before, with only 3 degree of freedom nodes, it was very hard to model bi-axial bending behaviour and torsion. Now, when each end of the…

Animated gif encoding within grasshopper

gifmaker.gh

Despite the age of the format, gifs remain a popular and very widely supported way to share small animations. The slider animation function in Grasshopper makes it easy to turn definitions into a sequence of images, but until now you…

Kangaroo 2.0 - Now out of the pouch and available for testing!

A few days ago I uploaded the first public work-in-progress version of the new Kangaroo (http://www.food4rhino.com/project/kangaroo)

I'm really excited to share this new release - which makes Kangaroo significantly more powerful and flexible.…

Aether – simple speedy spatial fields for Grasshopper

Spatially varying fields, which associate a value (such as a number or a vector) to every point in space, have a wide range of applications.

I wanted a simple way of defining such a field in a Grasshopper script component as an…

Kangaroo wins at 1st ALGODeQ competition

ALGODeQ is an international competition for algorithmic design programs, held for the first time this year.

There were 190 entries from 43 countries, judged by a large panel of professors and practitioners from around the world, in a multi-stage process.

The original intent of the organisers had been to award a single Grand-Prix, with an award of 1 million Yen, but during the judging process it was decided to award multiple highest prizes in 3 separate categories.

It is a… Continue

circle%20packing%20solution.3dmcircle%20packing%20solution.gh

Hi Daniel, you are my hero....

I will ask you to help me in these definitions that I made ... I am a beginner ...
1st wish: how can I force the circles on the edge of the Brep to collide as in solution 1?
2nd wish: how can I add a circle one after the other to fill as in solution 1?
3rd wish: how can I put the larger circles in the center and the smaller ones near the edge when I have to regularize the packaging of the circle?
hoping for your help ...

Hello,

is there any way i can equally create quad mesh in grasshopper

Hi Daniel,

I was wondering if I could get some advice on using Kangaroo 2/Rhino 5 to "shrinkwrap" geometry.  I've attached a file for your reference.

I have a created a sphere around a solid mesh. The sphere is collapsing using a zero length goal and the vertices of the mesh should be colliding with the sphere, but instead they appear to be pulling through the solid.

Any advice on how to best preserve the collision?

Thanks in advance for any help you have time to provide.

Best,

David

Hello I am new to grasshopper.I am doing my thesis on minimal surfaces.

I am trying to make a scherks surface.

Could you please help me in solving the error of the script

Thanks

Hi Daniel,

about planarization process where I can find some references for the theoretical and mathematical principles underpinning the simulation?

Thanks a lot,

Hi Daniel,

I am trying to integrate a simple 2d collision with Kangaroo in GHPython. in the example of the attached file, I have 5 polygons, four of which are attached by their coincident vertices. The attached polygons should move as single body and should repel the isolated polygon, which is not connected to anything. I am able to implement it in GH. I am able to implement the forces in GH and the solver in Python. However, when I try to implement the forces in GH Python, the results are buggy. Nothing happens and when I move a slider that constraint the max number of iterations, the shapes start to rotate.

Thank you.

Hello, Daniel, I am trying to add a "select one point" in my C# written componet. But failed. Can you give a hint how the Grasshopper window is hidden, and the Rhino window is activated? Thanks so much .
