EDIT...  The js blackout script is gone and the site is back to functioning normally.  It seems even the Slingshot! Twitter component got involved today.  ;)

Hello Grasshopper community,

This may not be 100% related to Grasshopper and Rhino... but in my mind it is a very important topic for this community to consider....

No doubt piracy and the protection of intellectual property is an important issue, but bills like SOPA and Protect IP threaten a free and open internet where ideas like Grasshopper, its plug-ins, and countless other fantastic design tools continue to thrive.  The bills would set a precedent for United States government censorship of the internet as a matter of law... a precedent that could easily be abused.  It also seems that other governments around the world area considering similar measures. 

This is a global issue...

Tomorrow, my modest design and computation blog, The Proving Ground, will join the SOPA/PIPA protest with a blackout of content.   Blogs of all types and subjects will be participating along with Reddit and Wikipedia.  I encourage others, if you are of a similar mindset, to do the same.
