Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I am using windows 7 64bit, 32gb ram, rhino5 64bit, but for heavy callculation (diva etc.) my system is still just using 4.1 gb ram (saw it at the tast manager). are there some settings to change?

My understanding is that Grasshopper runs in whatever Rhino is running i.e. Rhino 64 GH 64...... Rhino 32 GH 32

oh really? gh is just 32 bit? are there any plans to change it?

Grasshopper is still 32-bit.  If you were doing things in Rhino, then you might use more RAM, but through GH, you will hit the 32-bit limit.

the calculation is done in the threads of your processor cores. As diva is possible not multithreaded your system doesn't need more RAM for the calculation as it is limited bye the amount of threads it uses.
