algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hey
I just startet using GH, and am amazed by the possibilitys offered by the Rabbit addon (idem for kangoroo, galapagos, ....). I am wondering if it s possible to use an l-system algorith to create a structure wich starts at a given point (on the floor) an ends also at given points in space (under the ceiling) (or the other way around)?
Is this a thinkable use of the l-system? How complex is it to turn the integrated Rabbit l-system in functionning this (or a similar) way? I imagine it like an top-down procedure of the l-systems running for a single goal/point.
Sorry about my ignorance of some of the fundamental logics behind l-systems
-> knowledge is power
=> may the power be with YOU

Yeah guys... thank you a lot for you replies!
I have a very (very) restricted understanding of the fundamentals of the algorithm behind l-systems... several years ago i tried to implement a similar idea in maya/mel, but i didn´t get it workin... (the basic algorithm, that is implemented in rabbit) i m right now a bit in a rush, lateron i ll check the links out by wannes lernout, and refresh my l-system basics, and formulate my plans more exactly. btw i already downloaded kangoroo, but in fact in hoping realizing something differend, i ll get a closer look at it later on...
HEy,
If you want to create structural treestructures, like Otto Frei did, i'd recommend using Daniel Piler's KANGAROO.
Please download the GHX and 3DM file to get you going.
treestructure.3dm (maybe you should use 'save as')
treestructure.ghx (maybe you should use 'save as')
Hopes this get's you going.
hi there, you should know a bit about the rules in L systems a start could be here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L-system
in my little experience L systems have a starting point but no ending point, it depends on in what generation you want them to stop
maybe if you post a sketch of what you want to acomplish someone here could help
cheers
Is there nobody out there who can help me? Or is my question that stupid? Or is there maybe a better place to post it? There seems to be no such thnig than this board at the morphocode.com website (autors of rabbit)! Please tell me if its total rubbish before i ll try writing them an e-mail...
