African Textile script

Here is a carpet I made last year for the studio at Georgia Tech. It's a combination of 3 scripts extruded from the Shoowa Kuba.

Facet Script work in progress

Here is the faceting script that I am currently working on. It's really tricky when it comes to Facets. As the operation of flatting can only be applied to the bulges. The script doesn't work for concave surface bending for now.

Hexagon on a closed surface

Here is a hexagon script I have been working on. I collected a bunch of Hexagon scripts online. None of them were working right! Either one works on an open surface or the polygons are not connected. The ones that just create tubes are not well "pathed". With this one you cancreate operations like attractors for the openings. It took me a while to re-write it and now it works perfectly!…

Circular opening on Grill

Here is a facade type I have been working on. I started with one opening and was able to add another one. The goal is to make it infinite and variable as you can create points on a surface like attractors where you want it to create such gap. Please leave comments...…

Design Fugitives - Waffle Wall

Waffle Wall------

This grasshopper definition creates a wall of folding, interlocked ribbons. The pattern from the top resembles a

skewed waffle pattern. The input parameters are a base spline that defines the wall shape, length and curves; and a set of lines that define the look of the elevation heights. Sliders can control the depth of each side of the wall, the number of…

Shift list series dobut

Hello grasshopper world.

I have a doubt concerning shift list. I have a series of list items which I want to shift progresivly (picture), I tried to make a list with a series to do this in order to have increasing values (1,2,3,4......) but the what came out of the shift list was not what I expected and I really didnt understood what it did.
Before I tried to this I used a path mapper in order to change the branches, I dont know if this has something to do, I…

Help! link GH to external data via UDP

Hi there,
well i'm working on a architecture lab by Mario Vergara And Rodrigo Culagovski for the Architecture Magister on PUC.

i'm working on parameter variation via external controllers, in my case, via MIDI controllers.
my idea is to link PureData to GH via UDP. why pure data? cause' i can relate data like GH to generate numeric relations (and link it to audio generation)

so far i got PD and Processing to talk, but i can't…

Evolutionary Principles applied to Problem Solving

This blog post is a rough approximation of the lecture I gave at the AAG10 conference in Vienna on September 21st 2010. Naturally it will be quite a different experience as the medium is quite different, but it my hope the basic premise of the lecture remains intact. This post deals with Evolutionary Solvers in general, but I use Rhino, Grasshopper and Galapagos to demonstrate the topics.

I only needed this one view, but it could be extended to more views or even 3d!

Might be useful for rough furniture dimension etc...

could be much more detailed but keeping it clean and easy to use might be an issue...
