algorithmic modeling for Rhino
This example shows using Grasshopper with JupyterLab and ipywidgets.
That way we can control model created in Grasshopper inside JupyterLab, and then import results back to our notebook for further calculations, and to create nice-looking reports in Jupyter.
It's also possible to create user-friendly interface for Grasshopper…

Project created for engineering thesis.
Idea was to create parametric FEM-BIM (with Karamba3D and GeometryGym) for genetic algorithm optimization (using Galapagos) and automatically generate model to create drawings (in Tekla Structrures).

I implemented this OS algorithm into my Rhino and GH, PY space. It fascinates and surprisingly surprises me each time I witness a kind of life-like system emerging from comprehensible rules in between "particles #point3d"..
The original post by Artificial Life Lab Graz, is here if you are interested in trying out.. …

We've continued using Karamba in our TS2 course.
We've covered it earlier so students can use it earlier in their projects and as they work through the different structural typologies.
I've created a simple file with the Karamba plugins all set out, which they only have to edit here: …

Following a series of new projects, MARC FORNES / THEVERYMANY is seeking applicants for a full-time Computational Designer position in our studio in Dumbo, Brooklyn.
MARC FORNES / THEVERYMANY specialize in architecture and design at the intersection between ultra-thin lightweight structures and spatial experience. This work is deeply rooted in computational research (descriptive geometry, unique Stripes segmentation...) and digital fabrication. Ongoing projects are located across the…

The GHelix Bangle is a reinvention of one of my earlier Rhino/3D print designs, based on the curious topology of the Moebius strip. Although it already exists as a Rhino file, and has been printed out on a number of occasions, it's a tedious and time-consuming process trying to make changes to it.
I spent a day, recently, embedding the original,…

When I posted my NACA series 4 aerofoil generator Definition I suggested that it could be used, among other things, as a basis for creating Velomobile fairings. The decidedly Steampunkish Mosquito Velomobile, with its lightweight wood and fabric frame…

This has already been posted on the GH forum, but I suppose it should have gone here instead ;-)
I've been playing around in Rhino 6 recently, and put together a GH definition to generate NACA series 4 aerofoils. It's based on the equations and methods set out in Abbot and von Doenhoff’s classic student aerodynamicists’ text, Theory of Wing Sections. NACA's 4 series aerofoils are now rather old (they were developed in the thirties), but they are still useful for low-speed applications…

Hello all, I am trying to define a volume above of the ceiling in my zone and then find out its effect in the different form on thermal comfort, however, when I define that volume in hpplenum Zones component, it does not let energy plus engine to run. Would you please help me in this regard?

Hi everyone, I'm new to Rhino and Grasshopper but I would like to use them to do an acoustical analysis of a performance hall I am working on for class (student here). I have the room modeled in rhino 5 and I've been looking around for how to do a ray tracing study on the space using grasshopper but the internet is a big place where nothing is ever actually explained. How does one set up a ray trace that will show reflections off all of the surfaces? I would appreciate it if anyone can get…

We were having some fun putting all of this together and figured we should put it out there for everyone to mess around with and further develop. This script is looking at generative design and packing for multifamily or student housing. Probably could also be adapted to work as mixed use or storage facilities. …

Hello!
I'm working on this Parametric wall that turns into a bench. I am very close in my definition, but the only thing i'm missing is to make it ergonomical and comfortable
This is what i have so far
this is what i need to get too…
