Tong Zi Dan is a series of generatively designed vases made from dental gypsum.
The initial egg design gets randomly populated by a cloud of points which form the center for surfaces that trim the shape perpendicular to its curvature. A generative algorithm (Galapagos) is then used to create the area of all faces within a certain min/max range. Finally the faces are unrolled and laid onto a flat sheet to allow the production of the mold with a laser…

We are pleased to share the research undertaken in our 2012FA Pratt | Form, Force, Matter Seminar.
Form, Force, Matter investigates form-finding by way of "analog machines" and physics-based simulation to develop architectural prototypes. Through parallel research techniques - hands-on force active study models and simulated digital models - the course…

I was going to post that there are several Cluster Champions for the Smart Geometry 2013 Workshops here in the GH community, but actually 40% have profiles on Grasshopper3d.com. There might be others with profiles here, but maybe they obscure their avatar name ala Web 1.0. Also, this in no way takes into account the cases…

This definition divides a given surface and flattens each quad section to be unrolled to a grid on the xy plane. Once unrolled each face is then flattened and given tabs for reconstruction. Labels are provided.
THIS IS CURRENTLY A BETA VERSION AND IS NOT FULLY DEVELOPED, CHECK BACK FOR A FINAL VERSION.

Hi All,
I am new to grasshopper.
Have been experimenting for a while, but this a complete unusual field to me.
I have created a hull surface with Orca and and created some frames inside the mirrored and joined hull.
Then I wanted to offset it with GH in order to have a material thickness in the hull.
Therefore I took one side of the hull surface and made the offset.
But now the frames (which worked fine before I refencered them to the offset instead…
