algorithmic modeling for Rhino
After some rework of a previous script (http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/smooth-junction-blend-a-minimum-of-4-extrusions) to make node, here is a component to create node to join struts. It generates surfaces which blend sections of struts .
22/12/2015: Please consider it as WIP. Comments are welcome. As I have more comments when it works, it is also good…

During the last year we have developed a building component which helps constructing curved walls from glass. Essentially we have enhanced the profile of channel glass – a rolled glass product which is in production since decades. The new shape makes brittle glass fit for any sort of curve.…

You have a 3D model of your character from your liveliness, amusement or symbol and you need to carry it into this present reality with 3D printing? Don't worry about it! You may find that you're existing models aren't generally straightforwardly suitable for 3D printing, so we've arranged this instructional exercise particularly for you.
It's is not an instructional exercise about character displaying – there are as of now a lot…

This component concatenates bezier curves to easily make a curve from points and vectors. The difference with the Tangent Curve component is that the length of the vectors are taken into account, rather than a single bulge parameter.
I needed this many times, so I've done it as gha, maybe to someone else will be useful.

Hi
How do you calcualte the yearly sunlight on a facade and ground context. and the reduction of yearly sunlight on the same context due to a new development on the site ?
interested to know the reduction of yearly sun light in percentage.
any help appreciated
thank you

As part of the ACADIA 2015 Hackathon, Ramon van der Heijden at Front Inc and I developed a way to send arbitrary Grasshopper snippets to another instance of Grasshopper (on a local or remote machine). This can be used to push the computation to another machine, allowing you to continue editing the definition, then the output of your snippet will be pushed back when the computation has completed on the remote machine. Alternatively, you can store snippets in data keys and instantiate them as…

Hi all,
some users reported that it is increasingly difficult to get access to numpy/scipy in IronPython on a 64-bit machine. It used to be simple on a 32-bit one. While hoping for the best from …

Hey all!
Speckle is an easy way to share 3D grasshopper-generated snippets (as long as they can be converted to a mesh, hehe).
It's really easy to use (you plugin meshes in a component, you double click it - now wait a few seconds, depending on the size & internet connection speed - and you get a sharable link): …

There is always some useful shortcuts which can make the design process easier! I often find out that Grasshopper uses these shortcuts in a smart way. Here are some which I thought can be useful!
1- Point to Plane: makes a "XY" plane with the point as its origin
2- Plane to Point : Extracts the…

Grasshopper by default allows you to save individual components and clusters as "user objects," which can be re-used over and over again. However, sometimes you want to save a group of components without clustering them - like a component with pre-defined value lists or sliders attached, or special configurations with plugins like kangaroo, honeybee, or anemone.
The attached script lets you do just that - create a user object that can automatically place multiple components at…
