Julian has built up a career that mixes practical architectural experience and project delivery supported by a strong digital and technical background. Having worked in both a standards setting capacity and standards delivery capacity, he has the insight in both areas to scrutinise the digital implementation of such standards and offer practical advice to overcome the barriers often faced when digitising content. He sees Visual Programming Interfaces is a key way of including industry and delivering methodology and standards. It also provides a useful education tool to make programming principles accessible to the industry which is very much needed to improve the quality and get the most out of digital information about the built environment.
