For some reason I am unable to see your post on the Heron video page. So I will respond here.
For the topography, have you tried this IMG file:ftp://rockyftp.cr.usgs.gov/vdelivery/Datasets/Staged/NED/19/IMG/ned19_n26x00_w080x25_fl_miamidadecoast_2008.zip
And for the building heights, Seattle and San Francisco do include them, but I've found that not many sources do not. Have you tried this website:
http://gisweb.miamidade.gov/GISSelfServices/GeographicData/MDGeographicData.html
