So the wooden pieces are glued to the canvas membrane and basically hanged onto it (the membrane)?

the planar wooden pieces are routed from a a sheet of veneer 8'x4' and glued using a heat and water resistant glue to a canvas membrane the changing size of the pieces and the corresponding change of spaces in-between dictate the rigidity of the system and its formal modulation.
