Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Getting a bit closer...still buggy, but allowing for multiple intersections to be engulfed by "super-nodes" when individual elements become too small.

Hello david I am doing some design with grasshopper and exoskeleton and I need to make really smooth nodes. could you advice me how to aprouch something like you are showing up here?

Hi Rasmus...yes! I am planning on getting this out there when I can. I was hoping to package this with an updated exoskeleton wireframe component as well as a marching cubes isosurface geometry mesh-wrapper (and get it out several weeks ago) but I was overcome with another project, and I had to pause this. I will get back to it, I promise! :)

Really nice work David. Are you planning on sharing your script for this? :)

Looks really good.

Just been playing with your exoskeloton component. It's fantastic, can't wait for the updates!

Great work David! looking super... thanks for sharing your research....

This looks great!

I was thinking about a practical application for this - it would be nice sometimes to fill solid shapes with foam-like structures, possibly of varying densities. You could populate a solid volume with lines representing a foam structure, then apply the exoskeleton. It could be useful for 3d printing as an alternative to setting the fill densities in the slicing settings.

Cool! Looking forward to test it.

Hi Wieland...yes, it's set up now that you can set a start and end radius for each curve, and the radius transitions from start to end..if it intersects with others along the way, it interpolates the radii at each.

Hi David, this looks really promising! Is it possible to assign a thickness to each individual curve? Keep us posted. Wieland
