very cool, exact same thing i was looking to do a few weeks ago. i was never able to get the hexagons on surface without using vbscript. any chance you could share your definition? acoffman3 AT gatech DOT edu

In order to apply it to a closed surface you weave the end points to the beginning for your last row of hexagons. In order to do it you shift the set of points, split it and weave back together. So the rows start from #2 go....#40(the upper limit) the finish at #1. Was it clear? It's hard to explain :)
can you explain how you dealt with the closed surface? usually it is done on open surfaces, but a close surface..how do you deal with the end condition?
