In order to achieve a bone effect in computation. "Superficial" Not a bone but bone effect have you tried using iso surfacing? 

Iso surface the skeletal parts it will give you fragmented and connected but not predictable surfaces.

flori, it is basically surfaces transformed to mesh, joined and smoothed, u can achieve it in a lot of ways, for example dividing srf to points and then rhino comand mesh from points, or there are programs to do it for u, for example Zbrush.

hi youngjae, i realize that it might not be the best way, but i am solving this as my bachelor construction project and i needed some easy solution to achieve "bone" effect. if u have any better idea it would be much appreciated :)

i have experience using grancrete, a type of spray cement. i think spraying cement is complicated procedure because of the uneven load dynamics as you spary the cement on the framework, especially when you have such a complex structure. also it can be VERY weather dependent (limited work hours compared to regular cement esp. in hot weathers) mainly because it can clog up at the nozzle then the workers have to break down and flush the whole machine before the cement inside cures.
