algorithmic modeling for Rhino
LUMINESCENT LIMACON is inspired partly from the Dutch Ruff, or flamboyant linen collars considered fashionable in 17th century Europe, as a vehicle for the manipulation of light. Defined by the polar equation-based Limacon curve, the roulette curve rolls at various speeds to generate precisely choreographed profiles that are combined vertically to construct a number of formations. Variables can be calibrated to accomodate and produce a host of different lighting conditions and affects depending on environmental factors.

Hi Cho. I've published this unroll script on this thread. It only works on Rhino 5 because this special "Unroller" class is only available in the RhinoCommon version provided by Rhino 5...if you need some help or you don't understand something just contact me.
Hi I am quite interested in the lamp's unrolling script. Is it possible to get the unroll script from you?
Hi mike and simon,
this is done by dividing a surface (in this case a series of limacon curves lofted together) in a triangular grid (see page 2). from this triangles selecting a couple of point with list item in order to draw the curves. These curves are then lofted et voilà.
The stripes have to be unrolled and nested. Laser the peaces and assemble and the result is this. (early test model pics ->)
sorry i can't send you the script. If you want i can share some of the custom components that i've made for the script, such as the triangulation and the unroll script.
this is gorgeous~
may you please email me the defination~thank you so much~
