Nik, i feel your ire. And appreciate you're knowledge of Penthouse and Playboy, but be fair, the failings of 3d printers at Maker fairs is that the people selling them are more interested in tolerances and print speed as opposed to what they are creating with them. Even Makerbot, uses depressingly few examples, despite their capacity. (i'm looking at you gear heart)
Ignoring the mis-use by printer owners, don't you feel there is a place in the industry for a benchmark model? An instantly identifiable international standard. No matter your design sensibility.
(I've just opened the first paper on my desktop; http://web.engr.oregonstate.edu/~zhange/images/topoedit.pdf, and the bunny example is easiest to understand due to my previous exposure to the object)
I wasn't particularly designing anything, i wanted to test David's definition against a more complex form than a box, but still simple enough that you can identify object with so little resolution.
The balloons in his feet must have reached escape velocity!
