algorithmic modeling for Rhino
An origami dome using a generalization of one of Ron Resch's folding patterns. Inspired by the work of Tomohiro Tachi (http://www.tsg.ne.jp/TT/cg/). An approximate solution is generated geometrically, then the 'developablize' force in Kangaroo is used to optimize it so that angles around each vertex sum to 360° (which they do to within 0.00003°)

Ok here is my definition. Keep in mind it is just the basic Resch pattern not the Dome. I used Daniel's simple origami definition to create this.

I've not actually tried folding this in real life yet. If anyone wants to have a go (it would take some patience!), here is the 3d model and flat crease pattern: generalized_resch.3dm
within 0.00003° and you call this accurate???
ok just joking
