it is already built but it's not at the train station, it's at the university of arts in kassel, where i work and study, too. the room is some kind of a long entrance hall with windows on both sides, one side facing the street and the other facing an inner courtyard.

It will be built (or as I can see already is) on a train station in your home town (Kassel)?

yes, it has no real purpose but modulating daylight/sunlight and casting interesting shadows. So it's just physical eyecandy that was designed especially for this particular environment (between the two pillars and standing with one "foot" on the bench)
