Your project is very great !!
I am having difficulty in code grasshopper roof structure .
you can share code grasshopper . thanks you very much !!!
I've seen it in webGL. write me in private! please
Hi Daniel
Very broadly the process involves the following steps:
- Define the profiles you want to achieve (no overlapping in Z)
- Define a grid at level 0
- Project the boundary points in Z to your profiles
- Relax using Kangaroo, in this case you have to combine tension and a little catenary effect to accomodate the concrete volumes
- Once you have your edges you can buid a preview extrudin your profiles like the image above but if you look closely you will see it is very bad and not suited for construction.
- So the next step is to create a unique NURBS surface with the relaxed points (this is tricky)
- Segment the surface, evaluate normal planes and sweep or offset your profiles.
Now the structure looks good but there is still a long way to go to be able to fabricate.
- Subdivide each structural line based on max boundary volume (related to the CNC you will use), based also on min radius, fibre deviation from the original volume you are subtracting from, and based on min length, and fixed splitting planes to preserve the intersections.
- Iterate and watch the computer solve 1800 different pieces and sort them and number them to be able to put the puzzle together.
Hope this helps.
Bye
Hi
I was hoping you could elaborate a little on the process you took to recreate this project? Im trying to do something similar and am having trouble creating the original surface with the "v" shaped columns.
I like this building very much because I've seen it on other page,
and I'm interested that how could you made the another version :)
