algorithmic modeling for Rhino
In this Grasshopper tutorial, we are going to use surface paneling techniques to create Chunhua ("The Spring Flower") Pedestrian Bridge in Shenzhen, China. We will also demonstrate a few tips and tricks using Lunchbox and Pufferfish plugins.
We will cover how you can modify the whole shape with just a few sliders, change the number of divisions, adjust the thickness of the structure with various parameters. In addition to that, you will learn how to generate sinusoid (sine wave) that will be used to split the facade surface in order to create multiple openings.
An extended version of this tutorial can be found on our Patreon page and it includes advanced steps of rounding corners of curved panels, cutting surface with multiple items, giving thickness to each panel and adding railings on the walking surface.
