the above are just visualizations of complex functions.
for example if you calculate Cos[z] at each point the absolute value of the function defines a surface but more interestingly the Real and Imaginary parts describe two potentials [density fields] whose contours are orthogonal [they satisfy the laplace equation]. So if you atrt with a mesh and evaluate the Real and Imaginary part of Cos[z] or 1/z or Log[z] etc... at each uv point where z=u+v*i [i being the imaginary unit] then the Real and imaginary parts of this result can be fed into the contour calculation. I think the image above i from the ComplexContours sample in millipede examples.

Could you please share some examples of how to achieve the above results of the mesh contour extraction?
Couldn t find anything to the examples files.
