1/3 of a LED tube lamp covering from an old project Sin(|)Cos reworked with cocoon, sliced with Simplify 3d, and printed in pla on a gMax 1.5 XT printer.

Not really, the geometry is rather vertical, so overhangs were not an issue, the printer configured as it was for the print can handle about 45 slope easily, and depending on the span this can be pushed higher. As for the touchdown points, because the nature of the model has a small circular cross section and the touchdowns are various , also turned on a feature to lift the extruder on retraction which helps prevent blobs and helps with cooling.
Do you get problems with overhanging / supported sections curling upwards? I know you don't have support on this print but...
I've been using a new filament by a company called Floreon which is basically strong PLA. It's nice stuff but I get problems still with prints curling up.

Nice setup David! Never seen that printer before, but i love how simple and exposed it is. How long did it take to print that lamp section?
