What is the purpose of 3D printing an egg crate construction? Isn't the point to be able to use sheet material to construct free form geometry? It does look like high res for powder printing though...
Most 3d printers will print an object even if it is not solid, it will just refer to default settings to fill in the gaps essentially. However, sometimes this may mess up your original form. So the best thing to do as you are making an object is to refer to your rhino object properties and make sure that you have a "closed solid polysurface".

i wasn't solid science, and i thought the 3d printer was well easy to use, just push the button (like the song from the chemical brothers).
Do you have any tips or recommendations for others that want to use 3d printing for their grasshopper generated model. I am specifically thinking of how to check the model so that it can be printed, and maybe best practices you have learned from your experience,
