Hm. You mean the resist tension that is causing crumpling of metal elements on that lower image?
Actually was thinking about doing some tricks at the joints to have interlocking that resist tension. However, I didn't move on at that point. Having a joint like that would have removed the annoying wire.
I see. So the "u" direction wires are in this zigzag pattern.
I was confused about that "v" direction too, but I see, there are no wires in that direction.
Ok Kenneth. Thank you for your patience, and help one more time.
Brilliant project by the way! Keep it that way !!
I don't know if this slide make itself clear. In fact the paper board model didn't use any strings connection as it was too small. I have make a larger one with sheets of metal to test the wire idea. The u direction is connected as shown and there are no wire at the v direction except the ends to provide a tension force.
Thank you for the reply Kenneth. And thank you for uploading more of these pictures.
But I am still not sure I see the way supporting pre-stressed wires beneath are implanted.
Creating the minimal surface was a beginning for this project - getting a surface. Then that surface was panelized with those pyramidal shapes. But do you have some picture where we can see only wires that go beneath?
This project was created by paneling tools together with GH for fabrication. As I was using the Rhino4 GH in the past, these process are separated. But as GH is shifted to Rhino 5, the use of paneling tools and unrolling elements can all be automatically done in GH now.

A masterpiece !!!
Do you mind attaching some more images of this project?
I took a look a the other one you have in here too, but I still do not understand how does this work, and to what it is attached on the other (beneath) side.
