Well yes I get that, I just don't understand the way geometry gym shoots the string like supports down that you have, I get the center strings are like a result of a pulling and surface minimization, but the downward strings are outside the original loft, that is what I am asking, if that makes sense. If you don't mind maybe I can see the definition or a version of it you feel comfortable sharing as I know describing definitions gets confusing through words. my email is mikepryor@hotmail.com

Yes It is just one loft, and the string surface rips apart. Basically what geometry gym does is transform your given surface into something like "spring", so that the surface deforms and compresses. Where in that picture, the transparent surface is the giving surface.
Is it one loft your "ripping apart" or is it two lofts with some minimal surface "strings" between?
only the loft part is done with grasshopper. The stretchy deformation is calculated by geometry gym.
