I'm really enjoying all this mesh work. Is this update you mentioned available to share sometime soon? The disappearing mesh problem is a bit of a drag.

Will - yes, this new method using the normals to project instead of just closest point does seem to make a big difference :)

For those that missed the earlier conversation, this is what tended to happen before:

It's still not perfect - strange things can happen when the edge length gets too large in relation to the feature sizes, but it's an improvement.

I'll post the updated script soon.

the edge lengths are made approximately equal by remeshing, using a script similar to the one I posted here

is it possible to solve the problem with the size of cells? how to make them equal length?
