algorithmic modeling for Rhino
This Project is addressing a collective toy store of a transformers
character which is Bumble Bee, and it will be composed mainly of
an Exhibition area, and Display for the collection, the store will be
anti contextual, addressing most of the characteristics of the item
to be collected in the store, through morphological intelligence,
which promises spatial paradigm. Also is addressing the idea of
multi performance materials and will be totally environmental.
All the issues mentioned is combined in a modulated environment.
The components of the project is produced using an
ecological material - bamboo which is a strong material and at the
same time cheap, easy to build. This is what made me move from
the rectilinear components to the smooth ones.
The Idea of the Design for this project evolved when, we were
asked to search for our Favorite toy or collective item, my favorite
was The Transformers, especially Bumble Bee. What attracts me in
this toy is, the idea of Transformation from a robot to something
very elegant like a Brand new Chevrolet Camaro car , this brand
new Car is so contemporary, and it is so famous with it’s amazing
built up quality, as well as its double curved surfaces, and the
Glossiness of its surface. Which I found similar to what is happening
now in contemporary architecture, they are using the same
terms which are for example, Glossy Material, Lofted Surface,
Components, Multi performance material, Modulating Environments,
Ecological, and Sustainable. this toy has a combination of
many things in it, which are, Elegance when it is a car and the
strength of the look when it is transformed into a Robot, also the
way they involve the heterogeneous and multi performance materials
in this toy, which is what Architects are looking for these
days, not only to have one material as a finish, but also to have this material for instance for producing energy.
