Laboratory for Visionary Architecture Snowflake tower

This is a presentation about the parametric setup of LAVA's Snowflake tower. The parametric concept was developed almost one year ago, in one of the first versions of Grashopper. I thought it could be interesting to see how grashopper is already being used in some offices as a daily work tool, making the design process more efficient.
The parametric definition is based on the concept of a "Snowflake".
The Model allowed us to tweak the tower design on both micro and macro scale. Apart of just studying the width of balconies or radius of the core, we were also able to generate completely different shapes.
In a later stage, we rebuilded this model using a formula/script to describe the snowflakes.

That's amazing Gilles. I really like seeing the work you're doing.
Will be showing this to students in a new G.H. course starting next Monday at PUC.

that is cool.... can you help answer a question? how did get the different geometries to points on your main spline? Thanks if you can help...Cheers

Hey Christoph, I'm sorry but I can't share the ghx file with you as it's not my property. I made it for LAVA.

Was wondering if you would be willing to share the ghx file. I love the thought process of putting the tower together and want to try experimenting with it. Thanks for your help.
