algorithmic modeling for Rhino

5th year architecture thesis preview

Early renders of 5th year thesis. Using grasshopper a set of solids are trimmed, joined and meshed. Weaverbird subdivides then geometry gym relaxes the mesh. Karumba identifies tension and compression members, which is then maximized using Galapagos (ratio of tension to compression = fitness, and amount of relaxation in mesh are the input parameters).

After structural analysis I used the metaball tool to create floor plates which respond to the mesh and center points. The main structure will be sized dependent on

Finally using geco sun vector and the mesh exposure analysis I identified most exposed mesh faces of the skin and will insert plant panels into these faces to diffuse the light within the building.

Currently this is all done with one definition to all quick and very dynamic experimentation. More to come, this is just a quick preview.
