Hi Jurijin and Alexander, It turned out to be a bug in the new version of Radiance. You can either downgrade to older version of Radiance (https://db.tt/Oo0eWaa3) or replace pcond.exe in c:\radiance\bin with this file (https://db.tt/4kmmMDP3).
Hi Alexander. It would be great if you can create a discussion and upload the .hdr file. The error is in pcond and not the conversion itself. I'm not sure why this is happening with your *.hdr file.
The batch file runs when double clicked and it opens the cmd window for a split second. It took me about 8 tries but I managed to hit print scrn and capture the cmd window to examine its contents. Below for your scrutiny:
However, the washed out image I attached in the previous comment is the .HDR file opened directly in Photoshop. So regardless of the conversion to GIF failing what am I doing wrong to not be getting nice clear images/reneders like your example above?
Thanks!
PS Will post in Ladybug group from now. Shall we just continue this one here?
Hi guys! Can you please open discussions on Ladybug group so I can keep track of them easier.
Alexander - As far as I can see the conversion fails on your system and size of .gif files are 0. Can you double click on the batch file and check it will work?
Jurrjin - There is definitely a way to do that but I am not sure if you can do it with what we have developed for Honeybee. What I would try is to generate all the sky files for the hours that you are looking for and add them as additionalRadFiles to the component. That should give you an image with having all the sun positions in place. Then you can generate the falsecolor image for that. I'm not sure how much you can interpret the results of that analysis as sunlight hours analysis as the values will be in lux/candela/kwh.
Hi Mostapha,
Brilliant work!
I was wondering if you (or anyone) could shed some light into why I can't seem to make the analysis produce a decent result. Everything (incl. Radiance, etc.) should be up and running but I get a washed out image (see first image below), the EmbryoViz doesn't pick up the image since the path seems to have an error in it - I believe the it's the "//" before "sampleFile_RAD_Perspective.GIF" (see second image below) and if you look into the generated files the GIFs seem to have 0 bytes of information in them (see last image below).
What am I doing wrong?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hi Mostapha, Thanks for the example of the range of shadow analysis! Actually I was wondering if it's possible to make false color images of the possible sun hours (in hrs.) in RADIANCE with an interval of 5 minutes for 19th february:
1) an existing situation.
2) a new situation.
3) difference between existing and new.
Hi Jurrijin, Have you tried to use Ladybug_sunlightHours component? Here is an example: http://www.grasshopper3d.com/group/ladybug/forum/topics/shadow-rang...
Hi Mostapha, Nice shadow analysis! I was wondering if it's possible to calculate for all surfaces of your model total sun hours (hrs) of direct sunlight (-ab 0) in a falsecolor image for example 19th february?
