No, because it's a very simple definition where curves in rhino generate the blend effect of the strips, but there isn't any problem to improve the def  with width and thickness variable of the strips.

haha me too! have you seen how the strips were fabricated? They created what they called 'the torture rack' which was a variable formwork, so they could bend the strips to desired angles.

Has yours got the additional parameter of strip width?
