Hi Olympios,
Thanks for posting. It seems that there might be a change in behaviour in GSA, and that it now requires the task and case to be manually specified. I'll email you a script that works but I will make the plugin automatically generate a static task and case if not input.
Cheers,
Jon
Hi John,
I am trying to design a truss portal frame in grasshopper using gsa. I found this example very helpful but when I download it there was a red box in the solver. I did not understand why. Can you please explain me what is the problem if it is possible?
Best,
Olympios
Hi All,
It's more impressive when you see it trying the various arrangements, I'll upload a video soon (I still need to improve a couple of aspects on it). There's a lot that can be done with this, GA isn't necessarily the most appropriate solver in this type of scenario and have been discussing other possible optimizing techniques that are worth considering.
Scan and Solve should be possible to link to Galapagas, don't know if they have done any work to enable there solver to Grasshopper (I think they develop in c++ so there would need to be a dotNET wrapper).
WOW!
